Linda Trim

Linda has been embroidering, sewing and knitting for most of her life. In the 1960s and 1970s she made many of her own clothes as well as clothes for her two children. For a few years at the beginning of this century she made and sold bead-woven jewellery, followed by a period of making "one-off" handbags. In 2012, she started "Wednesday non-accredited classes" with Barbara Inchley at Acol, which Linda she still attends. These classes opened up a whole range of previously untried techniques such as block printing, foiling, transfer painting, dyeing, working with a heat gun and a soldering iron, etc. The classes also included hand and machine embroidery. Later that same year, Linda started a Level 2 City & Guilds course in Machine Embroidery, again with Barbara Inchley. She followed this up with a further Level 2 in Embroidery and then a two year Level 3 in Machine Embroidery. This autumn Linda will commence the final qualification of a Diploma in Machine Embroidery.
